Biosketch
Polina Gordienko is a doctoral researcher in Statistics at LMU Munich, supervised by Prof. Frauke Kreuter. From January to June 2026 she was a Visiting Doctoral Researcher at the University of Oxford. She holds master’s degrees from LMU in both Statistics and Data Science (M.Sc.) and Philosophy (M.A.), having previously earned two bachelor’s degrees in Economics and in Philosophy and History. Her research focuses on collective decision-making and benchmarking, drawing on statistics, social choice theory and logic. In her current work she studies how to aggregate model performance across multiple tasks and criteria so that leaderboard rankings are coherent, stable under changes to the set of models, and robust to benchmark-specific optimization. Born in Ulan-Ude and raised in Minsk, she moved to Germany on her own at the age of fifteen; alongside her research she has been serving as an elected member of a Munich district council.
