Fede is a graduate student in Computer Science at the LMU Munich and a research assistant at the Chair for Mobile and Distributed Systems. His current research areas are Quantum Algorithms and Visual Representation Learning.
Last semester, he joined the Center for Digital Technology and Management (CDTM), a joint institution between TUM and LMU focusing on trend research, product development, and entrepreneurship.

Implementing the Tensor Brain: Semantic Decoding for Perception and Memory
My research interests center on cognitive AI, which I see as a two-way exchange between machine learning and the brain. In one direction, insights from neuroscience and cognitive science can inform the design of more capable and more interpretable models. The structure of biological cognition offers a useful prior for what kinds of representations and computations are worth building into artificial systems. In the other direction, well-understood AI models can serve as concrete, manipulable hypotheses about human cognition, potentially feeding insights back into the cognitive sciences.
I am particularly drawn to interpretability and explainability questions within this framing, and to connections with quantum information, where probabilistic and quantum descriptions of inference can illuminate one another. More broadly, I am interested in AI for science: using machine learning not only as a predictive tool, but as an instrument for generating and testing scientific hypotheses.
