Biosketch
Emanuele is a biomedical engineer working at the intersection of AI-based computer vision, human–robot interaction, and assistive robotics. He earned his Bachelor’s in Biomedical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano and his Master’s in Bioengineering at Università di Genova (109/110), with a thesis on object segmentation and grasping detection for modulating upper-limb ExoSuit assistance, developed during an Erasmus+ research stay at Heidelberg University.

Emanuele is interested in the intersection of AI-based perception and physical human–robot collaboration, with a focus on reliable vision-driven interaction for collaborative industrial robots. He investigates how markerless RGB-based human pose, action, and intent estimation can serve as the primary perception layer between humans and cobots, while embedding learning-based components within deterministic control architectures. His research targets the characterization of the full perception-to-action chain — accuracy, latency, and operating envelope — to ensure that flexibility in shared workspaces does not compromise safety, predictability, or robustness.
